Australia was my first major trip outside of the US as an adult and one of my most memorable. The county of Australia is truly amazing. Sydney exceeded all my expectations and was a great city from beautiful beaches to a bustling and clean downtown metropolitan area. Brisbane and Melbourne are also great cities and of course you can't miss the Great Barrier Reef.
