Looking for the perfect mix of luxury, comfort, and classic Baja charm on your next Cabo trip? This guide covers everything you need to know about the Westin Los Cabos Resort Villas, including location, property highlights, dining options, amenities, and insider tips to help you plan your stay.

Why Stay at the Westin Los Cabos Resort Villas

Situated between Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo, the Westin Los Cabos Resort Villas offers an ideal balance of beachfront relaxation and easy access to the area’s top attractions. The resort features sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez while remaining close to golf courses, nightlife, shopping, and cultural experiences.

This property is part of the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio and also operates as a Westin Vacation Club resort. Guests can book with cash, points, or a combination of both. This flexibility makes it an excellent option for couples, families, and groups looking for spacious villa-style accommodations, especially for Marriott Bonvoy loyalists.

Location and Access

The resort is a short drive from Los Cabos International Airport, making arrival quick and convenient. Booking a private airport transfer in advance is recommended for a smooth start to your trip.

The Westin Los Cabos is well positioned for travelers who want to explore both Cabo San Lucas to the south and San José del Cabo to the north. Taxis and ride-share services are readily available from the resort, making it easy to visit restaurants, beaches, and nightlife in either direction.

Location highlights

Booking the Westin Los Cabos

Many guests staying at the resort are Westin or Marriott Vacation Club owners, but the property is also available for booking with cash or Marriott Bonvoy points. This is a strong option for travelers who prefer to stay within the Marriott ecosystem.

Booking directly through Marriott is recommended, especially when paired with a Marriott co-branded credit card. Cards that offer elevated elite status can unlock valuable perks during your stay and help you earn more points on eligible purchases. Sign-up bonuses can also help offset future stays at this resort or other Marriott properties worldwide.

The Bonvoy Amex is one of my most recommended credit cards because it comes with Automatic Platinum Elite Status to unlock tons of rewards during your stay including free night certificates, upgrades, free breakfast, and more.

The Marriott Boundless is a solid option at a lower annual fee which will also help you earn mid level hotel loyalty status and a jump start to earning more points during your stay.

Rooms and Villa-Style Layouts

The Westin Los Cabos Resort Villas stands out for its spacious accommodations, which range from studios to three-bedroom villas.

Villa features include

  • Spacious layouts with kitchenettes or full kitchens

  • In-unit washer and dryer, ideal for longer stays

  • Private balconies with ocean or resort views

  • Westin Heavenly Beds for one of my favorite hotel beds

These villas are especially well suited for families and groups who want more space than a traditional hotel room, along with the convenience of cooking and laundry facilities.

Dining Options at the Westin Los Cabos

Dining at the Westin Los Cabos ranges from casual poolside meals to elevated dining experiences.

  • El Ciruelo is the fine dining restaurant on property, serving steaks and fresh seafood with panoramic ocean views. Be sure to come up here for golden hour and get cocktails on the roof top lounge with beautiful sunset views down the coastline with views of the famous El Arco arches in the distance

  • Cocina Casera is the main restaurant and a popular spot for breakfast buffets and all-day dining.

  • La Cantina Sports Bar offers drinks, bar bites, and a relaxed atmosphere for watching sports or spending time with family and friends.

  • Coralline is the beachfront restaurant, ideal for a more polished lunch featuring Mexican-inspired dishes.

  • Mercadito is the on-site market with a coffee bar, snacks, deli items, and alcohol, perfect for villa cooking or quick grab-and-go options.

  • Poolside dining and the swim-up bar are available throughout the day, with happy hour offerings that are worth taking advantage of.

Amenities: Sun, Sea, and Wellness

The resort offers a wide range of amenities designed for both relaxation and activity.

Outdoor Experiences

  • Private beach access with lounge seating. Note, many beaches in Cabo are not swimmable. You can swim at this beach but use an abundance of caution as the waves are very rough.

  • Multiple outdoor pools, including a children’s pool and an infinity rooftop pool with cabanas and day beds

  • Pool cabanas and on-site bars for ultimate day by the pool or sand

  • Fitness classes, yoga sessions, and beach volleyball

  • Easy access to water sports throughout Los Cabos

  • Pristine Beaches with Rock Formations and Tide Pools

Health and Wellness

  • Spa Otomí, offering massages, facials, and full-service wellness treatments

  • A spacious fitness center with modern equipment, free weights, cardio machines, and a dedicated stretching and yoga area

  • Rooftop tennis and pickleball courts for guests looking to stay active

Insider Tips for Planning Your Stay

Visit between December and April for whale watching season, when humpback and gray whales can often be seen breaching just offshore.

Book ocean-view villas early and request higher floors for the best views. Premium suites with private hot tubs are worth considering if available.

Arrange airport transportation or a rental car in advance to make exploring Cabo easier.

Redeeming Marriott Bonvoy points can offer excellent value, particularly for villa-style accommodations.

The Westin Los Cabos Resort Villas is an excellent choice for travelers seeking:

  • Spacious villa-style accommodations

  • A relaxed beachfront resort experience

  • Family-friendly and group-friendly amenities

  • A central location between Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo
