Hilton Hawaiian Village Hotel Review

The majority of hotels on O’ahu are concentrated in the Honolulu and downtown Waikiki Beach area. The Hilton Hawaiian Village is the largest property on this famous stretch of beach. The iconic exterior facade of this beachfront property is famous and has been seen in countless movies and TV shows.

BOOKING A STAY

This is a Hilton brand hotel so I always highly recommend booking a stay with a Hilton branded credit card to maximize points earning and benefits on property (like free breakfast, upgrades, etc.). This property can also be booked for FREE with Hilton Honors Points! Check out my Hilton Amex Blog which I highly recommend to have in your wallet which will help you get free nights at properties such as this one.

This property can also be booked as part of the "Fine Hotel + Resorts' program with your American Express Platinum Card. Enjoy a $200 statement credit with this card plus other perks like like room upgrades, late checkout, and additional resort credits when booking.

ABOUT THE PROPERTY

This hotel is literally a village. With eight towers, this mega property boasts nearly 3,000 rooms spread between the Hilton Hotel Rooms and Hilton Grand Vacation condos. The property is located at the North end of Waikiki Beach which is perfect for walking to nearby shopping and dining as well as it boasts the largest and quietest beach in the area.

This hotel is famous for its salt water lagoon that sits just behind the beach which you can utilize for swimming and resort activities. Of course, this property has severals pools including some water slides.

In the front of the property is the village which has everything you need from an ABC Store (Hawaii’s best convenience store), to dining, to luxury shopping.

If this is your first time in Hawaii you will most likely want to experience a Luau which they have weekly on property.

This property has everything on site and you will not need to leave. However, you should leave for an adventure around one of the most amazing islands. Check out my Hawaii Travel Guide for everything you need to do and see on your trip to O’ahu.

FOOD & BEVERAGE

There are TONS of dining options available on property. Additionally, you can walk steps outside the property to some of the best shops and dining on the island in downtown Waikiki.

Bali Oceanfront is located on the beach and has breakfast and dinner.

Tropics Bar & Grill serves Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner and sits beachside for you to enjoy the beautiful views. They have everything from burgers to poke.

Hau Tree Bar is the poolside Tiki Bar serving drinks all day.

Aoki Teppanaki has all of your hibachi needs. Rocky Aoki is the creator of the Benihana teppanyaki restaurant. If you didn’t know the Aoki name from that then you may know his son who is a famous DJ, Steve Aoki. This is a great and fun restaurant and the Aoki Group has some other great restaurants on the island in walking distance from the property.

CJ’s New York Deli has everything you need from a big breakfast to deli sandwiches.

Fresco Italian Restaurant puts an slang flair on Italian cuisine

Hatsuhana is your go to sushi spot - you can’t not enjoy the fresh sushi on Hawaii!

Round Table Pizza for a quick dine in or carry out pizza.

Wiki Wiki Market has everything from snacks to prepackaged meals. They also have shaved ice made to order!

Dairy Queen for all your frozen desserts and treats!

Lappert's Ice Cream is the famous Hawaiian ice cream shop with baked goods and coffee

ROOMS & SUITES

There are tons of available room options but sadly the rooms are a little outdated. They are slowly refreshing the rooms but that can easily be overlooked when you see the breathtaking views right outside your door.

Splurging for a beach front view will definitely make your stay more enjoyable. Getting an upgrade as a Hilton Diamond Member, complimentary with the Hilton Amex makes that even better!

GENERAL REMARKS

This property is HUGE and has the most potential out of all the waikiki properties. However, this property is showing its age and can be very crowded. Most of the hotels in waikiki have a crowded feel but you can't beat the location and property amenities. A trip to O’ahu is a must and you won’t be disappointed when booking a stay here.
