Why Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal Is One of the Best Hotels in Mexico
The Waldorf Astoria Pedregal consistently ranks among the top luxury resorts in Mexico and for good reason:
Every room and villa features a private plunge pool
Dramatic cliffside ocean views overlooking the Pacific
Personalized service with dedicated Personal Concierges
Award-winning dining, including the famous El Farallon seaside restaurant
A secluded, ultra-private atmosphere just a short walk from downtown Cabo
Unlike many Cabo resorts, Pedregal feels intimate, exclusive, and timeless, making it ideal for honeymooners, couples, luxury travelers, and special occasions. This is absolutely the bucket list Cabo resort you need to book for your next trip.

Location & Arrival Experience
One of the most memorable aspects of staying at Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal is how you arrive. Guests enter through a private, torch-lit tunnel carved directly through the mountain ending in a cinematic ocean introduction that sets the tone for the entire stay. The staff will immediately whisk you away to the open air lounge overlooking the beach where they will provide you fresh margaritas on the couches while you sit for a relaxed check in process.
Despite feeling remote and secluded, the resort is located just minutes from downtown Cabo San Lucas, offering easy access to:
Cabo Marina
Luxury shopping and nightlife
Whale watching excursions (seasonal)
Boat tours and private yachts
This rare combination of privacy and convenience is a major reason Pedregal stands out. You won’t find any hecklers or people looking to sell you merchandise or paraphernalia on the beaches out front of the resort.
Rooms, Suites & Villas: Private Plunge Pools Everywhere
One of the most searched-for features of this resort is simple but extraordinary:every single room features a private plunge pool overlooking the beach
Room Highlights
Ocean-view outdoor covered terraces with plunge pools
Handcrafted Mexican design with modern luxury finishes
Fireplaces and oversized soaking tubs
Daily in-room Happy Hour with Chips, Guacamole and Coronas
Free bottle of the delicious Clase Azul Tequila waiting for you
For travelers seeking even more space and privacy, the resort’s multi-bedroom villas offer expansive outdoor living areas, infinity pools, and dedicated staff perfect for families or luxury group travel in Cabo. The larger villas can be found scattered in the resort or on the backside of the cliff overlooking Cabo and the Marina. The one bedroom beach villa easily was one of the most amazing experiences and I was upgraded to this amazing room because of my Hilton Diamond Status courtesy of holding my favorite credit card, the Hilton Aspire Amex, in my wallet!
Kid Friendly and Turn Down Service
The staff was exceptional throughout our stay, consistently going above and beyond. When we requested a crib, they thoughtfully provided our two-year-old son with a robe, slippers, and toiletries—an attention to detail that truly stood out.
Each evening, we returned from dinner to a perfectly refreshed room prepared for the night. The nightly turndown service included fresh water bottles on the nightstands, slippers and a bedside mat, with the curtains drawn and lighting adjusted to create a restful atmosphere. A proper turndown service is one of those small but meaningful touches that can elevate a property above the competition, and the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal sets the gold standard for luxury hospitality.
Dining at Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal
Don Manuel’s
Don Manuel’s is the resort’s go-to spot for breakfast and elevated Mexican cuisine, offering bold flavors, impeccable service, and sweeping ocean views. It’s the perfect place to start the day—whether you prefer ordering à la carte or indulging in the breakfast buffet.
As a Hilton Diamond member, I enjoyed complimentary breakfast, with the option to upgrade to the full buffet for a small fee (always recommend a Waldorf Astoria Buffett). The eggs, meats, and pastries were some of the best I’ve ever had, matched only by the exceptional service. Staff members greet you by name and remember you throughout your stay, adding a truly personal touch to the experience.
Traveling with my two-year-old son made the experience even more special—they surprised him with a charming French toast “car” decorated with fresh fruit, a thoughtful detail that speaks volumes about the level of care here.
For lunch, Don Manuel’s transitions into a relaxed, casual option serving flavorful tacos and classic Mexican dishes. The grilled fish tacos are a standout and a personal favorite.
Dinner offers a more refined yet still laid-back atmosphere, complete with ocean views and live entertainment—making it an ideal spot for a memorable evening without feeling overly formal.
El Farallon (A Must-Do Experience)
Perched on the cliff above the crashing Pacific, El Farallon is one of the most iconic restaurants in all of Los Cabos. Guests start at their champagne bar which is an amazing way to start the evening. Their amazing fresh seafood always pairs best with the iconic sunset views making this a bucket-list dining experience. If you come in the winter time you will even most likely spot a whale swimming by. Be sure to book a reservation here ahead of time as many people look to dine here that aren’t guests of the property.
In-Room & Private Dining
Private terrace dinners, beachside setups, and in-suite dining allow guests to enjoy five-star cuisine without ever leaving their plunge pool. The multi-bedroom villas have grills and kitchens where people can hire a chef to come and cook them a gourmet meal.
Pools, Beach & Resort Amenities
Like many Cabo Resorts, swimming in the ocean isn’t recommended due to strong currents and deep drop offs. However there is so much the resort offers like:
Multiple infinity pools with full service including an Adult Only Pool
A private beach perfect for walking and sunset views
The award-winning Waldorf Astoria Spa
Yoga, fitness classes, and wellness experiences
Personalized excursions curated by the concierge team
Kids Club and Zero Entry Shallow Pools perfect for kids
This is a resort designed for relaxation, romance, and refined luxury. The staff is super attentive and will bring you fresh towers, waters, and even fresh fruit or frozen treats throughout the day.
Who Should Stay at Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal?
This resort is ideal for:
Honeymooners and anniversary trips
Couples seeking a romantic Cabo getaway
Luxury travelers who value privacy and service
Travelers celebrating milestones or once-in-a-lifetime trips
Families looking a quiet and relaxing getaway
Hilton Honors Loyalists (the best Hilton property in Mexico)
If you’re looking for a high-energy party scene, this may not be the right fit. But if your goal is quiet luxury, world-class service, and unforgettable views, Pedregal is unmatched. However, you can take a short drive or walk to the marina for the clubs or a more vibrant party scene.
