INEO Restaurant Review (2026): Why This Michelin-Starred Restaurant Was the Best Meal We Had in Rome

When people think about dining in Rome, the first dishes that come to mind are usually cacio e pepe, carbonara, amatriciana, and perfectly blistered Roman pizza. And while those classics absolutely deserve their reputation, every once in a while it's worth stepping outside tradition for something completely different. And after serveral days in Italy, you might just be looking for something different!
That's exactly what we found at INEO, the Michelin-starred signature restaurant inside the Anantara Palazzo Naiadi Rome Hotel. I wasn't just impressed, I was genuinely blown away, and arguably had one of the best meals of my life.
If you're planning a trip to Rome and want one unforgettable fine dining experience, here's why INEO deserves a reservation.
The Tasting Menu Experience
We chose the full tasting menu with the accompanying wine pairing, and I would recommend doing exactly that if your budget allows. Rather than ordering individual dishes, the tasting menu allows Chef Heros De Agostinis to guide you through his vision, with each course building naturally on the one before it.
The meal started with a bread cart displaying 5 choices of fresh baked breads. Each one was amazing and don't get me started on the butter.
The progression of the entire meal felt incredibly thoughtful. Each dish looked like art and bursted with flavors. It's the kind of meal where you're never quite sure what's coming next and that's part of the excitement.
Every Plate Is a Work of Art
Presentation is spectacular. Each course arrives looking almost too beautiful to disturb.
Every dish delivers. Every bite is layered with flavor. The attention to detail is remarkable, from the precision of the plating to the quality of every ingredient on the plate. You can immediately tell that an incredible amount of planning and creativity goes into every course.
Even as a Big Eater, I Left Completely Satisfied
As a former Division I athlete, I've always been skeptical of tasting menus.
Tiny portions and lots of empty plates usually don't sound like my idea of a satisfying dinner.
I expected to leave hungry. I couldn't have been more wrong.
While each individual course may only be a few bites, the number of courses, combined with the thoughtful pacing of the meal, left me completely satisfied.
The Wine Pairing Is Worth Every Euro
If you're debating whether to add the wine pairing, my advice is simple: Do it.
The wines in Italy are on another level. Each one was truly delicious and maybe me skeptical of the "wines" I was drinking back home.
Several pairings introduced us to Italian wines we likely never would have ordered on our own, adding another layer of discovery to the evening.
The sommelier explained each selection without making the experience feel intimidating, making the wine pairing enjoyable whether you're a seasoned collector or simply someone who appreciates a good glass of wine.
Is It Worth Splurging?
Absolutely. Rome is filled with incredible restaurants where you can enjoy outstanding pasta for under €20. You should absolutely eat at those places.
In fact, some of our favorite meals during the trip were simple neighborhood trattorias serving recipes that have been perfected over generations.
If you're celebrating a honeymoon, anniversary, birthday, or simply want one unforgettable dinner during your time in Rome, this is where I'd spend the money.
Final Thoughts
Everything from the beautifully designed dining room and flawless service to the creativity of the tasting menu and expertly curated wine pairing came together to create one of the most memorable dining experiences we've ever had.
Even after days of eating incredible food throughout Italy, INEO managed to surprise us, challenge our expectations, and remind us that fine dining can be both approachable and extraordinary.
