Fairmont Orchid Property Highlights

The Fairmont Orchid combines classic luxury with a distinctly Hawaiian sense of place. From the open-air lobby to the ocean views and manicured gardens, the resort feels polished yet deeply connected to its laid back and relaxed surroundings.

Pool & Beach

The expansive oceanfront pool has ample loungers, making it easy to relax without waking up early to claim a spot. For a more elevated experience, private cabanas offer shaded seating and personalized service.

The resort’s Pauoa Bay white sand beach and vibrant blue lagoon is one of the calmest and most swimmable beaches on the Big Island. Sheltered by lava rock, the water is ideal for swimming and snorkeling and you may just spot some green sea turtles (honu) just offshore.

Complimentary snorkel gear is available from the activities desk, making it easy to explore the reef right from the resort.

Spa Without Walls

One of the Fairmont Orchid’s standout features is the Spa Without Walls. Open-air treatment cabanas overlook waterfalls or the Pacific Ocean, creating a peaceful, immersive experience.

Treatments feature traditional Hawaiian lomi lomi massage, tropical oils, and the soothing sounds of nature that are the perfect way to unwinding after a day of island exploring.

Activities & Fitness

The resort offers a wide range of activities, including:

  • Fully equipped fitness center

  • Tennis and pickleball courts

  • Championship golf at nearby Mauna Lani courses

Whether you want to stay active or fully unplug, the Fairmont Orchid makes it easy.

Dining at the Fairmont Orchid

Dining is a highlight of any stay at the Fairmont Orchid, with several standout options on property:

  • Brown’s Beach House – Oceanfront fine dining with fresh island cuisine and unforgettable sunset views

  • Binchotan: Bar & Grill – A modern Hawaiian-Japanese fusion restaurant featuring fireside grilling

  • Gathering of the Kings Luau – A must-see cultural experience with traditional Hawaiian dance, storytelling, and island-inspired cuisine

Brown's Beach House is a MUST book restaraunt even if you aren't staying overnight as a guest. The ambiance, views, and cusine is some of the best on the island. We took this trip when my son was 6 months old and desparately needed this quiet and romantic dinner. Everything was equisite from the Ube bread with honey butter, to the fresh poke, refreshing cocktails, and of course the fresh hawaiian fish.
